Former American Idol contestant was a hopeful in Season 5
It’s always unfortunate to hear that someone took their life. In the case of Paula Goodspeed, no official coroner’s report has been released as yet, but it does appear that this 30 year old American Idol fan took her own life.
Paula Goodspeed was found dead in a parked car in close vicinity of Paula Abdul’s home in Sherman Oaks, CA, last night. Police reported that Goodspeed’s parents had reported her missing, in the belief that their daughter might be at Paula Abdul’s home.
Paula Goodspeed was an avid fan of Paula Abdul and had tried out for American Idol, season 5 back in February of 2006.
After performing her rendition of “Proud Mary” for the judges, Paula Goodspeed was turned down for trying out at the Hollywood auditions that followed into the next round of eliminations for the show.
Paula Abdul released a statement to the media regarding this incident earlier today, expressing her condolences. The American Idol judge is deeply saddened by this event that transpired yesterday and her prayers go out to Paula Goodspeed’s grieving family over this heartbreaking tragedy.
